I enjoy participating in art fairs because it gives me the opportunity to meet my customers and get feedback from them. I especially appreciate the constructive criticism some of them offer. I also view this as am opportunity to disseminate information about the craft of scrimshaw, an indigenous American art form that is slowly dying. Part of my mission in life is to get more people interested in this craft, both as art appreciators and as practicing scrimshanders.
